Rubrics
Problem description
We wanted to be able to directly reward knowledge, experience and skills, and for that we need some kind of objective guide, to understand what we seek to promote and compensate for, with the least amount of bias.
How the tool solves the problem
The structure of the Competencies Rubric is made up of:
- 5 areas: each area is a set of competencies, grouped together because they belong to the same "theme". Each area has:
- 4 tracks: each track revolves around a competence, a set of knowledge, skills and experience, along which every person grows through:
- 5 milestones: each milestone implies having achieved, demonstrated and sustained a series of behaviors. The behaviors are described in abstract terms in the description of the milestone of each track, in a more detailed way with the use of “signals”, and in a concrete way with the use of “examples”.
- 4 tracks: each track revolves around a competence, a set of knowledge, skills and experience, along which every person grows through:
The further down the tree we go, the more likely it is that, over time, there will be changes and improvements. The examples and signals are bound –and expected– to change and evolve as we use, discuss, and apply them.
Dashboard
The main dashboard provides a quick overview of each person’s competencies at any given time, and what makes up that competency level. The breakdown of each competency allows for a comprehensive view of the milestone achieved for each skill, and the signals and examples associated to it.

Review request
There is also an easy way to ask for a review of that competency, along with the date of it’s last update.
