Problem description

The base assumption behind our organization model is that the traditional, linear, ascendent, cumulative career path no longer works. We evolved an organizational model in which people don’t have fixed titles and tasks, but rather cooperate in a flexible and dynamic distribution of roles and responsibilities.

The most important thing is to keep the organization doing great work, and making sure none of our responsibilities gets overlooked.

How the tool solves the problem

The Career Garden is a visualization tool that makes it easier to keep track of different areas of responsibility, and the different people that are accountable for them at any given time.

Focusing the model on roles and responsibilities enables people to move from one role to another whenever they feel the need to, creating awareness for the rest of the organization, so that their responsibilities being left unattended. It also gives people the opportunity to create their own path of growth and learning, and design their own roles.

At the core of the Career Garden, there is a RACI Matrix detailing who is Responsible, Accountable, Consulted and/or Informed about each of the functions that keep the organization running.
